Program Description

Students, faculty, and musicians, gather together to create a songwriting community like no other. From complete beginners to advanced songwriters, everyone is welcome to attend this exciting, rejuvenating, skill-expanding workshop.

Two tracks are available at Universe of Song. First time UOS students and beginning songwriters take Track One. Returning UOS students and advanced songwriters take Track Two.

Both tracks are designed to give guided experience through important areas of songwriting. Each year our focus for the event changes as we explore the Universe of Song, so the program is always of great value in new ways, year after year.  In this program, students are encouraged to use new songwriting techniques with extensive one-on-one instruction from faculty. Universe of Song will challenge you where you need it most and support you no matter what level you are as a writer.

In addition to the guided part of the program, many electives are available. These allow students to customize their program at UOS for their own optimal experience.

Finally, there are multiple opportunities to perform and be part of community music making, as well as exciting, world-class concerts.
Universe of Song is an inclusive, inter-generational community of diverse yet like-minded people. It’s a 4-day event that will change your songwriting, enrich your life, and rejuvenate your soul!

What to Expect:
Expect to enjoy four days of fascinating workshops. Classes include presentations and plenty of hands on experience. You will be writing the songs! Also, there will be ample opportunities for sharing and learning from each other, as well as rejuvenation on the beautiful Saint Francis University Campus.
